This is more than just an AirPods clone, it’s actually a high performing pair of headphones. Since the company is not completely replicating the AirPods design, it does work the same way in theory. There are two separate wireless earbuds that require charging every few hours. This can be done by conveniently placing them in the charging case provided by the company. As far as battery life is concerned, it is estimated to last anywhere between 4 to 5 hours on a single charge. This when included with the fully charged charging case translates into a usage time of roughly 20 hours.
The company also offers XS/S/M/L/XL ear tips as well as a micro USB cable to charge up the charging case. This AirPods alternative also comes with a microphone, allowing you to make or receive calls at will. The charging case is beautifully designed and includes LED indicators on the front. What makes this offering stand out from the crowd is the fact that it is also sold in Black in addition to White. Be sure to check it out.

2. True Wireless Waterproof Earbuds
This is a proper AirPod clone that will fool even the most tech savvy individuals out there. It even comes with its own charging case, which is in line with the original AirPods. The company mentions that this unit can provide battery life of around 3 to four hours, which when combined with the wireless charging case, adds up to a sweet 15+ hours.
These fake AirPods run on Bluetooth 5.0, offering the best in terms of range as well as performance. There’s a relatively huge 950 mAh battery on the charging case, keeping your earbuds going for quite a while. The company also talks about an IPX7 rating for the earbuds, making it suitable for use during rains or even at the gym. It may not survive a submersion, however.
This AirPod alternative can also automatically charge itself while placed inside the charging case. The company talks about an audio chip built inside the earbuds, which promises to offer excellent audio quality. As these are AirPod clones, they are only sold in the Classic White variant. At around $40, this is certainly worth a look given the features it promises on board.
This is yet another fake AirPods, offering pretty much the same features on board. However, the design is a quick giveaway. One can say that while the design isn’t identical, the functionality is pretty much the same. The design also ensures a snug fit on your ear, which is definitely handy. This AirPods alternative comes with a charging case that can last up to four additional charges. The earbuds can last up to 2-3 hours of “high quality playback time”. These earbuds also come with multifunctional buttons, allowing you to quickly answer/reject a call, or skip the track. There is no volume control, however, so you may have to rely on your phone to do that.
The charging case is neatly designed and has a power button on the front along with status indicating LEDs. This gives you a very good idea of how much battery is actually left on the case. Versatility is also a key reason to go with third-party AirPods alternatives. These work with pretty much any device out there, including your Windows or Mac desktop as well as Android/iOS smartphones and tablets. This is also one of the cheaper AirPods clones available out there, selling for just under $25 right now.
4. BESTTRENDY Wireless Headphones
This is slightly different compared to the earbuds we have talked about so far. What’s immediately noticeable here is the fact that the earbuds come with a wire, making them less prone to losing. While this doesn’t give it the typical AirPods look, the way these earbuds are shaped can definitely fool a few people. The fact that there’s a wire here also means that the company can offer an in-line remote with controls for pause/play, answer/reject calls or even control the volume. Given that very few AirPods clones can actually offer volume control, we find this is a welcome feature here.
There are also some obvious downsides to this design. Primarily, you will miss out on the charging case here, as the earbuds have to be charged directly with a micro USB cable. This means that you will need to be close to a power adapter every few hours to juice up this device. The company claims that these earbuds can last for up to 3-4 hours, with a standby time of about 50 hours. The best part is that the company also offers a 12 month warranty coverage for the product. For a product that retails for well under $15, this is pretty great.
This is a direct AirPods clone, and looks much more convincing than the offering we spoke of above. The ear tips are designed slightly differently, though. The charging case is also quite different, and it even comes with its own power button and LED indicators. This is very much unlike the AirPods, and hence a distinctive difference between the two. The one big concern here is the battery life. The company claims that the device can only last 90 minutes of music playback and 10 days of standby time. However, charging up the case only takes about 50 minutes.
As you would expect, this AirPods clone is compatible with a wide range of devices, including computers as well as Android and iOS smartphones/tablets. These earbuds pack Bluetooth 4.1, which is a bit of a letdown as most headphones now come with Bluetooth 5.0 on board. You will also get a microphone on board here, making it easy to answer or reject phone calls while on the go. The company reportedly offers lifetime technical support for the product, which is pretty decent. It is priced competitively right now, although there’s no telling when the prices are bumped up.
6. Generic AirPods Clone
This is an exciting clone of the Apple AirPods and mimics most of its features cleverly. There are some minor giveaways when we look closely, however. It comes with a compact charging case which has a massive capacity of 950 mAh, theoretically allowing music playback for 16 hours with some interruptions. For a device that is this small and wireless, the charging case becomes absolutely crucial, especially given the fact that the earbuds can’t last for more than 4 hours without a charge.
The company also promises these earbuds to be water resistant, so you should be fine wearing this at the gym or during moderate rain outdoors. Much like the original AirPods, this offering automatically powers on when you remove it from the case and powers off and starts charging when you put it back in the case. So in terms of functionality, it’s quite clear that the manufacturer has tried its best to keep its features true to the AirPods. Thanks to the singular button on these fake AirPods, you can easily control music or even answer calls while on the go. This product is currently priced at just under $40.
This is an extremely lightweight AirPods alternative and weighs a miserly 4 grams each, thus ensuring that you can wear this for prolonged intervals. It comes with dedicated ear tips, something that the original AirPods lacks. However, this is a nice touch and ensures that the music doesn’t leak out from your ears. This in turn can also help offer sound isolation features on these tiny earbuds. As you probably noticed, these earbuds are pretty identical to a few other fake AirPods out there, which means the market is currently crowded with a lot of generic AirPods alternatives.
However, pricing becomes the major differentiating factor as is the case with any product you buy online. These tiny earbuds also accommodate a microphone on board, allowing you to make phone calls. The button on the earbuds also help end calls or pause/play music. Expectedly, the earbuds are compatible with a wide range of products out there, including the likes of the iPad Pro and the Galaxy Note 9. This attractive AirPods clone is currently selling for well under $25.
This is perhaps one of the longest lasting AirPods alternatives that we’ve come across on this list. With a battery life of about 7 hours with a single charge and an additional five cycles thanks to the battery charging case, these fake AirPods can last for up to 35 hours, or so the company claims. This is thanks largely to the slight change in design, which allows the manufacturer some more space. In terms of earbuds design, however, this is fairly identical to the AirPods and lacks ear tips. There are dual microphones on board here, giving you optimum sound quality during phone calls, although this is also dependent on the network your phone carries.
Since each earbud here works independently, you can conveniently share your earbuds with someone next to you. This way, music or media can be enjoyed by more than one person. There’s a multi function button on the earbud allowing you to control the volume, music, as well as phone calls. Priced around $40, this is certainly one of the best AirPods clones we could find in the market.
This is yet another fairly decent AirPods alternative that comes with a fairly similar design, especially if you’ve looked at a few of our products on this list. What I like about this offering is the fact that each earbud has its own set of buttons, allowing you to control the media or even phone calls. This also means that the earbuds come with a dedicated microphone. Fortunately, both units work independently, so you can share music with someone around you easily.
The company claims that the earbuds can last up to 3-4 hours on a single charge. The charging case offers the ability to juice up the earbuds a few more times, which is handy especially when you’re on the go. This is perhaps one of the primary reasons why the AirPods is so popular. It can outlast almost any other wireless earbuds without taking too much of your space. The company here is kind enough to offer a USB cable to charge up the case. This offering also comes with 12 months of warranty. By far the cheapest offering on our list, this can be yours for a miserly $9.99.
The design here is very much on par with what we’ve spoken about above, which means you get a decent AirPods clone along with a fairly capable charging case. A wide range of smartphones, tablets and computers are compatible with this product, so there’s no concern in that area. The charging case takes around 50 minutes to fully charge, and the earbuds can last up to 90 minutes of music playback or 10 days of standby time. The battery life may be a concern for prospective buyers, although the charging case should reduce those concerns significantly.
This supports Bluetooth 4.1 out of the box and reportedly comes with noise cancellation tech as well. However, the design doesn’t suggest that, especially since there are no ear tips to isolate background noise from your ear. You can get this AirPods clone for just around $30 at the time of this writing.
How good are fake AirPods?
“Part of the brilliance of Apple AirPods is that they sync so seamlessly and quickly with other Apple products,” explains Rachel Rothman, GH chief technologist. “This definitely won’t be as easy when they are not actual Apple products.”
While our fake AirPods claimed to connect automatically, we had to manually pair the two earpieces, which proved tricky. Once paired, an iPhone actually recognized one of the pairs as legitimate Apple AirPods. But once they were connected, we weren’t able to access any of the other features that are available with the Apple version.
While the sound quality was decent overall, it wasn’t consistent and some songs sounded better than others. A few times during testing, they randomly connected to the phone while they were still charging in the case.
How can you tell if you have fake AirPods vs. real?
If you want real AirPods, buy them from Apple, Best Buy or on Amazon (just make sure Apple is the authorized seller). At first glance, counterfeit wireless earpieces and charging cases can look strikingly similar to Apple AirPods, but as Cher Horowitz famously said in the 1995 cult-classic, Clueless, the fake earbuds are a full-on Monet — “From far away, it’s okay, but up close it’s a big ol’ mess.”
Once in your hands, fakes are pretty easy to spot thanks to sloppy packaging and missing or faulty features. The earpieces themselves feel slightly heavier. One pair had misaligned speaker covers and while the boxes suggest otherwise, neither pair had any Left or Right labeling.
Item listing: Watch out for a less-than-professional description and unusually low prices — both are a pretty strong indicator that you might be dealing with a fake. Many sellers use the same stock photos for their listings, so it’s difficult to determine if what you’re getting is different than what’s being advertised.
One of the many fake AirPods listings we found on Amazon.AMAZON
Packaging: Both pairs of fake AirPods we purchased had multiple typos on their packaging and user manual. We immediately noticed that one of the charging cases had a few visible dirty spots. Again, not the best sign.
You won’t be winning any spelling bees with “antomaticaly.”
Faulty additions: Each fake pair came with a simple plastic insert, a case with two earpieces, an extremely short charging cord.
Buttons: The fakes have physical buttons on the sides — likely because they aren’t using the same sensors as Apple AirPods and instead need more internal hardware. Unlike real Apple AirPods, which have no physical buttons, you need these buttons to turn the headphones on and pair the two earpieces.
Charging capabilities: Authentic Apple AirPods’ case can be charged via Lighting port (the same charger as your iPhone or iPad). While one of the fake AirPod pairs had the same port, the other one had a micro-USB port, meaning you’d need to get an extra (non-Apple) chargers on-hand. Neither of the fakes were able to charge wirelessly like second generation Apple AirPods.
Price: The old adage holds true: If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
The seemingly new headphones arrived with dirt on the inside of the plastic-wrapped charging case.
Are the best fake airpods on amazon safe?
No matter what the electronic item is, everything can pose some sort of safety risk. That’s why GH engineers always recommend buying products directly from reputable manufacturers, like Apple, Samsung or Sony, all companies that adhere to safety-testing.
When deciding what to buy, look for safety emblems by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories). These third-party labs test to strict safety standards, and part of what they do is ensure that electrical items don’t pose fire or shock hazards. Look for the UL mark on the product itself and the ETL emblem on the product, packaging, and user manual.
Not there? Check UL’s site to see if they’re certified, since some items don’t require labelling. Still can’t find confirmation? Return it ASAP. Remember that just like fake products, fake emblems exist, and it can be tough to tell what’s real when you’re not buying from a well-known brand.
