Finding the Best jet washer uk and best pressure washer uk 2020 can be hard if you’re unaware of what features to look for especially that there are so many of them to find around. For this reason, we’ve put up a guide highlighting the top 10 pressure washers in the category.
Our team has researched and reviewed these products to help you come up with a better decision.
best pressure washer uk 2020
Pressure washers – sometimes known as power washers or jet washers – are one of the most versatile garden power tools you can buy, enabling you to keep everything from your car to your patio and your garden furniture to your driveway looking spick and span. They are far more powerful than normal garden hoses and use less water too.
There are three types of machine: Light duty, mid duty and heavy duty. Make sure you don’t buy a machine with less, or indeed more, pressure than you actually need.
Generally speaking, mid-range machines have a pressure of around 110 bar – a good level for tackling patios, fencing, cars, guttering and exterior paintwork.
Machines with high pressure rates of 120 bar or more are better suited to large areas of paving, driveways, wooden decking, stonework, really grubby 4x4s or caravans. The best starting point is to think about what you’ll be cleaning and how often, and work from there.
When choosing which washer to go for, check which accessories are included – a patio brush or car-wash brush can make or break your pressure washer’s results. Also consider manoeuvrability and storage – some machines are cumbersome and heavy, while others are compact and light. Hose lengths can be dramatically different too.
Also don’t assume the more expensive the machine, the better it is. Some of the mid-range washers we tested outdid some of the top-of-the-range offerings, hands-down.
Here are our favourites, which we tested for ease of use (including any extra features), value for money, and results.

Kärcher K4 Full Control Home Pressure Washer

Kärcher K4 Full Control Home Pressure Washer Review
The Kärcher K4 Full Control Home Pressure Washer is the best home pressure washers on the UK market today. It’ll clean anything from your patio to your car, and you get a lot of kit for your money too.
The Karcher K4 is capable of cleaning 30 meters per hour, enough to tackle jobs in most households with time to spare.
The K4 jet washer offers 1800 watts of power and a water-cooled engine. A water-cooled engine uses water to maintain the ideal temperature, so you don’t need to worry about the unit overheating in the middle of a task.
It can spray 420 litres of water per hour with 130 bars of pressure and is capable of cleaning 30 metres per hour – that’s enough to tackle jobs in most households.
The easy to understand display on the K4’s trigger gun helps select the right pressure for the right job. The screen displays symbols for different tasks, so there’s one setting for washing the car and another for cleaning stone or brickwork on a patio for example.
Check the pressure level on the display at any time to make sure it’s right for what you’re doing at the moment and change it instantly if needed. The LED display requires two AAA batteries loaded into the trigger gun handle.
So what about attachments you ask? Well, the K4’s dirt blaster lance offers a powerful rotating point to wash off dirt or mud from tyres or wheel rims, and there’s a water butt attachment to make conservation easier. You also get a user-friendly patio cleaning attachment, patio cleaner, vario lance, and spray lance too.
Like most other Karcher pressure washers the K4 isn’t cheap, but it’s well-built and adaptable for many uses. I think the storage compartment is little fragile but other than that I haven’t found any drawbacks to the K4.
The Karcher K4 Full Control Home Pressure Washer has my vote because it’s easy to handle and changing from one function to another takes only a few seconds. Its 130 bars of pressure and telescopic handle make it perfect for versatile outdoor cleaning tasks.

Kärcher K7 Premium Full Control Plus Home Pressure Washer

Kärcher K7 Premium Full Control Plus Home Pressure Washer Review
The Karcher K7 Premium Full Control Plus (that’s quite a mouthful!) replaces Karcher’s K7 model. It’s kept all the great stuff and added more functionality such as LCD display settings.
This pressure washer is Karcher’s most powerful domestic offering and it knocks spots off others. Not only is it the best pressure washer for patios, but it’s great for block paving, cleaning the car, facades and patio furniture too.
Let’s start with power. 160 bar pressure is pretty powerful and it really shows when you pull the trigger. The water flow is 600l/h so make sure you’ve got an area that’ll run off quickly and stop spraying when you can!
The fast water flow makes all jobs faster so it’s a great feature on the new K7. No worries about overheating either as it has an internal water-cooling system to prevent overheating.
The detergent system is a breeze, just plug in the bottle, twist it, and you’re away without faff.
The vario lance changes pressure settings – there are four, the lowest being detergent jobs and the highest for algae and blackened slabs.
You also get the T450 Racer which is an accessory for exterior surfaces such as patios, walls, and garage doors. It’s wider than a nozzle so helps you finish faster and fits into the corner bits. I think this makes it the best pressure washer for decking too.
You might be wondering about the ‘full control’ bit?
This refers to the new trigger gun which now has a LED display. There’s no fuss with numbers and reference books here because the display shows a picture of a car or bricks for example and you select what’s appropriate with the + and – buttons. It couldn’t be any easier.
There are settings for soft, medium and heavy use too which helps prevent blasting all the pointing from your house by accident. You’ll need 2 AAA batteries to get the LCD display working.
Out of the box, it’s easy to clip together and doesn’t wobble – the build quality is excellent.
There’s a telescopic handle and it weighs 18kg which is nice and solid so it won’t tip easily if you need a bit more stretch. There are two wheels to move the pressure washer about.
This pressure washer has an impressive 10 metre hose which makes it good for car cleaning but horribly tricky to store. Good news that it has an integral hose reel!
It might seem a small detail, but we all struggle with storage and that hose reel keeps it compact and tidy.
If it’s outside and needs a deep clean, the new K7 will get it sparkling again, plus you’ve got to love the yellow and black branding, it really looks the part.
The K7 Premium is one of the pricier pressure washers but it’s difficult to fault. It’s definitely the best Kärcher pressure washer on the market, but not everyone wants to spend the lofty price tag. The 5-year warranty does take the pressure off the investment though. Excuse the pun.
- Pressure: 160 bar
- Power watts: 2800 watts
- Litres Per Hour: 500

WORX WG629E.1 MAX Cordless HYDROSHOT Portable Pressure Cleaner Review
Worx 20V Battery High Pressure Washer Hydroshot WG629E is the best pressure washer for your car, as it will draw water from any source. If you’re lucky enough to have a tap at the front of your house, it’s perfect.
This cordless pressure washer is undeniably useful. For one, you don’t even need a tap because it’ll turn a bucket of water or even a bottle into a high-powered jet of water. If you’re by a lake, pond, or river that’ll work too.
This is a great piece of kit even if you don’t have an outside tap or a power supply. You can chuck it in the car and wash your mountain bike off before it gets encrusted on the way home, blast your kid’s muddy wellies when you’re camping, wash off winter grime from a balcony, or clean an entire car from any water source.
The bar pressure maxs out at 22 bar which doesn’t seem a great deal in comparison to others in this review but that is still 10 x the power of a garden hose.
It’s powered by a rechargeable battery that’ll last around an hour with continuous use and it takes 5 hours from dead to re-charge, but if you already own other 20V Worx products their batteries are interchangeable – or you can buy them individually to add to the cleaning time.
5 hours is a longer charge up time than some lithium batteries, but this avoids battery burn out from heat build-up. To get a longer running time switch on ‘variable use’ – it’s not as powerful, but still shifts dirt.
There are multiple pressure settings on the 5-in-1 pressure nozzle that controls the jet stream and it has a rotating head to get into all the nooks and crannies. From a fine mist to a pulsating sprayer– just turn the head to pick out the setting you need. The fine mist is gentle enough to remove dust or bird mess from plants.
The hose is six metres long which is enough room to get around your car without moving a bucket for example, or you can fix the nozzle straight onto the machine for close up jobs. The lance attachment adds an extra 35 inches to the overall length.
This is a fully portable and versatile machine that you can take anywhere without a power source or water supply. Even if you already own a pressure washer this is a useful, cordless tool to add to your collection.
- Pressure: 22 bar
- Power watts: 20V
- Litres Per Hour: 150

Bosch EasyAquatak 120 Pressure Washer Review
The Bosch EasyAquatak 120 is powerful yet compact and it draws water from any source. It’s a proper all-rounder and many consider it the best budget pressure washer available.
The Easy Aquatak is one of those tools that you go without for ages and when you buy one, can’t remember how you managed before. One of its best functions is the ability to draw water from any source and still push out 120 bars.
This pressure washer will draw water from a garden hose or an unpressurised source such as a bucket (you need to buy a separate suction hose for that feature). That opens up a whole new cleaning world – one without an outside tap!
So let’s talk all-important power. This Bosch is small but mighty. It knocks out enough pressure to blast down your walls and patio no problem and the water stops when you release the trigger. This keeps water consumption down and prevents the biblical-style flood that can happen with other makes.
The design of this pressure washer is a bit different. It’s made with a low centre of gravity so it looks pretty quirky, but that design feature stops it toppling over. The wide base means you can tug it and it won’t fall down like the majority of pressure washers do. You can even set it on a table and it won’t fall off easily.
So what are the accessories? A fixed fan jet nozzle for basics, a rotary nozzle for stubborn dirt in nooks and crannies, and a high-pressure detergent nozzle to blast away built-up grime that needs a proper wash – the built-in detergent function saves time by simply applying when you pull the trigger.
All the accessories fit on to the machine. No-one likes hoses and nozzles lying across the garage floor so this is a real perk and invaluable if like me you constantly lose tool parts. Having them all to hand is a real time saver especially as they just click in and out of place.
It’s one of the best portable pressure washers with a built-in handle, versatile, and comes ready to go out of the box. It’s perfect for town life – blasting the decking clean, washing the wheelie bin out, cleaning the car, windows, and balconies.
- Pressure: 120
- Power watts: 1500
- Litres Per Hour: 350
- Hose Length: 5m

Karcher K2 Compact Pressure Washer

Karcher K2 Compact Pressure Washer Review
The Karcher K2 Compact Pressure Washer is a great all-rounder and one of the best budget pressure washers on the market, considering it’s great features.
It has an air-cooled 1400 watt motor, 110 bars of pressure and 360 litres of water flow per hour so it’s not as powerful as Karcher’s K4 – but if you don’t need all that power and water why spend more?
This jet washer is ideal for cleaning cars, bicycles and tidying up patios in small gardens. It’s lightweight and versatile enough for simple ‘not engrained with filth’ tasks such as washing the winter off a furniture set, hosing down a muddy patio, or cleaning your bike.
In terms of attachments, it has a dirtblaster lance with a rotating point jet spray that gives you up to 50% greater cleaning power than a hose, a one-way lance offering constant high pressure, a T50 T-racer patio cleaner, a detergent pouch for patio and deck cleaner, and a trigger gun. That’s a lot of attachments for a well-priced pressure washer.
You can store all these attachments in a compartment inside the unit to keep nozzles readily available and tidy.
The K2 has a detergent pipe and detergent suction tube for washing off tougher dirt – that’s unusual at this price point, and a built-in filter to prevent dirt particles from damaging the engine and pump.
It doesn’t have wheels but includes clips to carry it around.
- Pressure: 110 bar
- Power watts: 1400
- Litres Per Hour: 360

Nilfisk C130 1-6 X-Tra Pressure Washer

Nilfisk C130 1-6 X-Tra Pressure Washer Review
This Nilfisk C130 1-6 X-Tra Pressure Washer is the Kärcher K4’s main competitor. It’s got to be said, Nilfisk have done a great job with this model. It’s small but powerful and well worth your consideration.
The C130 has a powerful 1700W air-cooled motor, 440 litres of water per hour and the bar pressure tops at 135 bars – but it’s still gentle enough to leave the paint on your car.
This pressure washer’s powerful water flow makes it ideal for small to medium-sized patios and driveways. It has a 6-metre high-pressure hose and 6-metre electric cable, and an auto stop-start handle for safety, If you have a large space this pressure washer will help you clean it quickly.
The excellent piece of kit comes with a click and clean nozzle for more accuracy when spraying water, a spray lance with 360⁰ degree rotation, and a built-in low-pressure nozzle. There’s also a wash brush and a click and clean foam sprayer bottle for detergent.
The Nilfisk C130 is made from recycled plastic and it’s lightweight and wheel-mounted so you don’t need to be an athlete to use it
I rate the Nilfisk C130 as one of the best pressure washers because it handles a bit more water than others so it’s ideal for your car, motorbike, patio or decking – a great all-rounder.
