where to buy birkin bag

Looking for Where To Buy Birkin Bag? Like many girls, I have a passion for beautiful things and that includes luxury bags, especially the holy grail of handbags, the Birkin. I am neither a VIP at Hermes nor celebrity but I have brought back a total of five Birkin bags from the Hermes boutiques (United States and Paris) within three years. Some were obtained as a walk-in while others required certain purchase history. With this, many people have asked me to share my experiences and tips on how to get a Birkin.

Getting your first or second Birkin is not easy. It’s the world’s most exclusive bag. But, if you cultivate Relationship with a Hermes SA, you can certainly get one; even if you don’t get one immediately, there is a good chance that she would make one for you if you get to like her and do some business with the boutique where she works. Yes, she may eventually say no and this is something I learned through experience of two requests – which required certain purchase history.

Here goes:

how to get a Birkin

Where To Buy Birkin Bag

1. Try your luck as a walk-in at Hermes boutiques

hermes boutique

It is rare to get a Birkin as a walk-in, but it doesn’t hurt to try your luck. I have successfully obtained two Birkins as a walk-in.

In my experience, dressing up nicely or wearing Hermes products do not guarantee you get offered a Birkin. Dressing up casually or not wearing Hermes products do not lower your chance of getting offered one, either. How you ask and when to ask for it matters.

Tips:

  • Do not ask for a Birkin right away but show your knowledge of their products and slowly bring up the idea that you’re looking for a Birkin.

My first Birkin was bamboo 35 in palladium hardware (as shown below) and I obtained it from a Hermes boutique near my home as a walk-in in 2014. I remember wearing casual clothes and carrying a non-designer bag when I walked into the store.

The store wasn’t crowded that afternoon. I just walked into a friendly sales associate and told her that I wanted to buy a bag but not sure what to get.  Then, I looked at the garden bags and commented that the colors and leathers seemed nice but it would be nicer if they were Birkins or Kellys. That sales associate responded that she knew what I meant but they didn’t have any.

After chatting more about the new colors and designs they had for the season, she eventually opened up and asked me to wait. Then, she came back with a big orange box. She took me to a private room and showed me a 35 Birkin in bamboo color. It was an amazing feeling to get an offer and I happily bought it. Of course, I was extremely lucky then.

  • Ask your husband/boyfriend to get it for you.

I have seen well-dressed men taken into private rooms and came out with big orange boxes. I know what those boxes have!

Sales associates know that men who walk into the store are ready to spend $$$. This means you’ll have a higher chance of getting one when your husband/boyfriend buys them as special gifts for you.

My husband walked into the same boutique that offered me the bamboo Birkin and told a lovely SA that he wanted to get something special for my birthday. That SA just walked back to the stockroom and returned with a beautiful blue electric Birkin in size 30 (as shown below).

  • Try your luck at the mothership store in Paris.

The mothership store in Paris located on 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré definitely has the widest inventory of the bags. There, you have a higher chance of getting a bag without previous purchase history.

Of course, it depends on the SA, the timing, the manager who will approve the bags and how open-minded you are with the colors/leathers/hardware. It seems that bright colors and seasonal colors are offered more often to tourists.

  • Shop on weekdays and avoid the month of August

Based on most people’s experiences, boutiques receive shipments mostly during the weekdays and rarely on Saturdays. Also, the artisans like to take vacations in the summer, especially the month of August. Thus, the inventory is the lowest then.

2. Build up purchase history at boutiques

In general, Hermes likes to offer bags to customers who enjoy all products of the brand and not just their bags. Buying other non-Birkin/Kelly items is a way to show them that. However, what you buy and who you buy it from matters.

Tips:

  • Stick to the same sales associate in one store.

If you have multiple purchases from different stores, you need to spend a lot more from both stores to get offered a bag. Also, you need to build up a relationship with the sales associate in a store if you want to get a Birkin.

After getting one bag, it is important to maintain good relationships with the SA. You can try bringing some desserts during holidays or introducing your friends to the same sales associate.

  • Build up purchase history by making small purchases over a long period of time.

If you only buy non-Birkin/Kelly items, it may take you longer to get a bag offer, especially as a new client. An SA has many clients and it is hard for her/him to remember each one’s spending and wishlist. You can visit the store often so your SA will remember you. You do not need to make purchases each time.

  • Buy big-ticket items that have high sales commissions.

My third Birkin was purchased in 2016. It was a 35 black birkin in gold hardware (as shown below). That was offered by the same sales associate who sold me the bamboo Birkin a few years back. I waited for two months for that.

During these two months, I made few purchases of non-Birkin/Kelly items, such as cashmere shawls, silk scarves and fashion jewelries before I was finally offered a black Birkin in gold hardware. This one took a long time because the items I bought were popular Hermes products that had lower sales commissions. It would have been much quicker if I bought less popular products that had higher commissions, such as fine jewelry, clothing, and home products.

While different stores have different requirements, the current general standard in the States is:

  • Spending $4,000 to $8,000 on non-Birkin/Kelly items to receive an offer for a basic leather Birkin/Kelly.
  • Spending over $20,000 on non-bags to get offered a special order (where you can design your own bag).
  • Spend a lot more and become a big client for an offer for a crocodile or ostrich Birkin/Kelly/Constance.

Whichever you prefer, you can buy many smaller items at different times (which will take longer) or buy one big item to get offered a bag relatively faster.

3. Paris FSH Store Experiences/Tips

paris fsh store

I had great experiences shopping at this mothership store in Paris. As many of you are aware, this store requires an appointment to see a leather sales specialist. I have been to this store twice and received an offer for Birkin bag each time.

This is how I did it:

Day 1

The first time I went to FSH store was last Thanksgiving. My friend and I didn’t line up outside in the morning the first day. We arrived at the store around 5 pm when the store was about to close.

There, I went directly to the second floor to check out fine pieces of jewelry. I bought a gold ring and the jewelry SA immediately brought an SA from the leather department to help me with the bags. I wanted a neutral colored Birkin, but they only had bright colors left for the day. So, they asked me to come back the next day.

Day 2

I lined up outside of the store around 8:30 am and got an appointment to see a leather specialist at 11:30 am. During the wait time, I checked out the different departments of the store and bought a few belts and scarves.

Around 11:25 am, I went to see the jewelry SA who helped me the day before and he brought the assigned leather specialist to meet me at the fine jewelry area. The leather specialist asked me about my wishlist and went to check her inventory. She came back and told me that she had bright colors, but no neutral colors. She then asked me to come back the next day and directly ask for her.

Day 3

I lined up outside again around 8:30 am. I asked for an appointment specifically with the leather specialist who helped me on Day 2. This time, my appointment moved up very quickly and I met with her around 10:15 am. Again, no new shipments yet and she asked me to try again in the afternoon (no need for an appointment). I came back in the afternoon and directly went to see her in the leather department. Still, no shipments.

But, this time, she felt really bad and offered me a special order. I was able to select the exterior/interior leather/colors, the stitching and hardware. All the pain I suffered was totally worth it!

The second time I went to FSH store was this summer. My mom and I arrived Paris in the morning and went to FSH around 11:30 am. The store was not full that time as most Parisians went to the south for vacation. The store has fewer visitors because the stocks were low, too.

We didn’t have to line up outside to get an appointment. The greeting team just assigned one leather specialist to see us immediately. We met with the leather specialist in the leather department. We chatted a little bit. I told him that it was a trip for my mom’s birthday and it would be lovely if I could get her a gift (a Birkin or garden party).

He took down our wishlist and my passport and came back with a big orange box! It was a black Birkin in size 35! We knew that stock was really low and we were so happy to get an offer.

I don’t know if my strategies will work again under FSH store’s new appointment system, but they are definitely worth trying. Here are some tips:

  1. Try to buy fine jewelry, clothing or home products and have the sales associate in these departments to introduce you a leather specialist without an appointment.
  2. Show up later in the day and see if there is one leather specialist available to help you without an appointment.
  3. If you have an appointment with one leather specialist in the morning, ask her/him if you can come back to see her/him again in the afternoon.
  4. Utilize all of your networks and get to know Michael Coste. He is the head of client relations at Hermes and works in the FSH store. He spends a lot of time with celebrities and important people and has the best bags to offer. You will be in good hands if you get into his circle :).

Good luck on your first Birkin. I hope you find these tips helpful.

HOW TO BUY A HERMES BIRKIN BAG IN PARIS

how to buy a birkin bag in Paris

People from all around the world travel to Paris to try to get their hands on one of the most coveted bags of our time, the Hermes Birkin Bag. This uniquely handmade bag is extremely sought after by Hermes fanatics, celebrities, and bloggers. Purchasing a Birkin bag in Paris isn’t as simple as walking into a store, seeing a wide array of colors and then choosing your favorite color and leather.  There is a lot more involved in the process. Today I’m going to share with you an insider’s guide to how to buy a Hermes Birkin bag in Paris.

Living in Paris for the past 4 years, I’ve met a variety of people in working in various positions. Some have worked at Hermes, and have provided me with tips and tricks on how to buy a Hermes Birkin bag in Paris. Below I’ve outlined steps to help you successfully purchase the Birkin bag of your dreams.

BOOK AN APPOINTMENT ON THE HERMES WEBSITE

Before you can even see the Hermes Birkin, you must first get an appointment. Years ago, you had to wake up super early, stand in line outside the store and hope and pray that you would be chosen to talk with a sales associate. Now it’s a little more technological advanced. The day before you want to go to the Hermes store, you must go to their website on your smartphone and request an appointment. Be prepared to enter your name, phone number, and passport information. You can only book an appointment between 10:30am and 6:30PM on your smartphone. At exactly 7:30PM you will either receive a confirmation of your appointment at an allotted time or a rejection message.

It’s important to note, that the Hermes website does not accept appointments on Sunday. If you are looking to book an appointment for Hermes for Monday you must book it on Saturday.

It is possible, but not recommended, that if you don’t get an appointment the first time you request one, to go to the store, introduce yourself and try to see if an appointment as been cancelled.

BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE HERMES BRAND AND THEIR BAGS

Hermes loves people who are passionate about their brand. Before I purchased my Birkin bag, I did an endless amount of research on leather, color, hardware, stitching and how the bag is created. For most people, it’s a big investment to buy a Birkin bag, so you want to have ample amount of knowledge on the products.

When you are talking to your Sales Associate (SA) bring up the different colors that were released, talk about the different leathers, and then really emphasize which ones are your favorites. If you are open to multiple colors or leather types give the Sales Associate your options. I highly recommend you don’t say things like,” I’ll just take anything or any color.” For the Sales Associates this comes off like a red flag, suggesting that you might be a reseller. Even if isn’t true, give them 2 or 3 options of colors you would accept.

HAVE A STRONG HERMES BUYING HISTORY

Before I purchased my Hermes Birkin bag, I read over and over again that you must have a strong buying history to be offered a neutral color Hermes Birkin bag. However, given that I had no buying history when I purchased my Birkin bag, I don’t necessarily think that’s true. I do believe if your Sales Associate is on the fence about offering one and you have a strong buying history, it is more likely that they will offer you a Hermes Birkin bag. It’s also important to note, that your buying history doesn’t cross international waters. For example, if you have bought something in New York City, the Paris computers don’t have it registered.

DRESS THE PART

When I say dress the part, I’m not saying show up in a ball gown to Hermes, I’m saying look nice and if you have any designer pieces wear those. Hermes is notorious for providing Birkin bags to people who “fit the part” or look like they deserve a bag. When you walk into the Hermes store in Paris, be confident and dress in timeless pieces. Also, if you have any Hermes pieces already definitely wear those!

In photo I’m wearing a top from Bailey 44 Sloane Top (Size XS), leather pants, my black Birkin size 30, and Louboutin shoes.

AVOID GOING TO HERMES IN PARIS DURING FASHION WEEK, WEEKENDS, AND THE MONTH OF AUGUST

One key piece of advice that is often not discussed is when do avoid going to Hermes in Paris to buy your Birkin bag. The most notable time to avoid a Hermes store is during fashion week. The reason is that many celebrities are going to Hermes purchasing the latest bags for fashion events. It is very unlikely that you’ll be able to purchase one during this time due to the stock being very low and being reserved for celebrities. Fashion week is two times a year in Paris, once typically at the end of September and the other being at the end of Feb / early March.

The other time to avoid is the weekend. It is often crowded and a Sales Associate won’t have as much time to spend with you. The final time to avoid shopping at a Hermes store in Paris is in August. This is when all the tourists go to Paris and try to get their hands on a famous Hermes bag. In addition to the tourist shopping, August is a month of holiday in France. Therefore, many of the workers who are normally creating the gorgeous Birkin bags are unavailable and most likely on holiday.

IF YOU DON’T GET IMMEDIATELY GET OFFERED A BIRKIN BAG, DON’T GET DISCOURAGED

I’ve read many times that people have been rejected once while attempting to get a Birkin bag and have simply given up. This is a huge mistake. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into the detail of the Birkin Bag and quanities are limited.

Therefore if you show up it’s possible they don’t have any Birkin bags in stock or they are sold out the day you go. However, don’t get discouraged! The Hermes store in Paris is constantly getting in new inventory. I recommend if you live in a city with a Hermes store to build a relationship with your Sales Associate and have them inform you of when new shipments arrive.

WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO BUY A HERMES BIRKIN BAG IN PARIS?

I get asked time and time again, why is it so difficult to get a Hermes Birkin bag in Paris. Many people become frustrated because they don’t understand why they can not purchase a bag if there is one at that retail location. There are a few reasons why it’s so difficult to be offered the opportunity to purchase a Hermes Birkin bag in Paris.

The first reason is quite simple, over the years the bags have become coveted by the elite and celebrities thus driving their resale value through the roof. For example, the cost of a Birkin bag in 2019 for a togo leather size 30 is 7,500 Euros in Paris. However, if you try to resell this same bag, you would be able to for at least 15,000 Euros if it is in pristine condition.

The second reason it’s so difficult to be offered the opportunity to buy a Hermes Birkin Bag is because there are only so many Birkin bags created and in circulation. There is roughly only 200,000 Birkin Bags in circulation, and for example, Victoria Beckham owns 100 Birkin bags.

Finally, Hermes does a really good job of creating a perfect supply and demand situation. The less supply they have the more demand there is.

DO YOU RECEIVE THE TAX REFUND ON THE HERMES BIRKIN BAG IN PARIS?

The great news for non-European Union citizens, is that if you spend over 175.01 Euros you’re entitled to the tax refund process in Paris. The tax refund includes the Hermes Birkin bag and other Hermes products! When you go to pay for your Hermes Birkin bag in Paris they will ask you for your passport and then ask if you want the paperwork for the tax refund process.

RECAP ON HOW TO BUY A HERMES BIRKIN BAG IN PARIS?

In short the best way to be offered to buy a Hermes Birkin bag in Paris is to: 1. book an appointment online, 2. be knowledgeable about the Hermes brand, 3. be kind to your sales associate, 4. dress the part, 5. have a strong buying history, 6. don’t limit yourself to only one color and leather type (have a few options in mind) 7. and if at first you don’t succeed try, try, try again!

I feel 100% confident recommending each of these department stores to you. All of these places offer a great experience and high quality products. When it comes to shopping in Paris you have endless amounts of options.

At times it can be overwhelming. It’s hard to know which department stores are worth going to and which shopping areas should be avoided.

Today, I’m sharing with you my insider shopping guide to the best department stores in Paris. I’ve outlined why I like each of them and what you should focus on when shopping there.

When it comes to shopping keep in mind if you spend over 175.01 Euros at one given department store in Paris you are entitled to the tax vat refund process in Paris which is roughly 12%. I’ve written an entire article outlining the VAT tax refund process here!

One of the best things about shopping at the department stores in Paris, for example, Printemps, Bon Marche, BHV, and Galeries Lafayette is they offer additional discounts while shopping at the store. The shopping industry is competitive in Paris and these department stores have more flexibility when it comes to offering you additional discount.

PRINTEMPS DEPARTMENT STORE IN PARIS

Outside Printemps Department Store in Paris

Printemps dominants the Boulevard Haussmann shopping street corner. In one corner they have the mens store, they have the beauty store and finally have the women’s store. Printemps is a beautiful department store filled with many high end brands as well as affordable brands to fit all budgets. If I’m trying to go in and out quickly of a department store in Paris I always go to Printemps.

This department store in Paris is adored by locals and tourists alike.

If you have a chance to check out their rooftop they have one of the most incredible views of Paris. In addition, if you have an opportunity to eat at Brasserie Printemps you will be able to sit under one of the most famous domes in all of Paris. I’ve personally eaten here a few times and I highly recommend the food.

Another reason that I love shopping at the Printemps department store in Paris is because they offer wedding dresses. This is one of the few department stores in Paris that carry wedding dresses. However, make sure you book in advance as spots tend to fill up quickly. If you are looking for a unique Parisian wedding dress designer I highly recommend you check out Printemps.

GALERIES LAFAYETTE IN PARIS

I’ve spent a great deal amount of time not only shopping at Galeries Lafayette but also enjoying some of the experiences they offer. When you walk into Galeries Lafayette you will be blown away by their 8 story department store with a grand dome in the center of it all. This grand department store was founded in 1912 and continues to be one of the most popular places to go shopping in Paris.

People travel to Galeries Lafayette from around the world to stand under the dome and experience the greatness it offers. Galeries Lafayette is home to over 62 stores. It offers both high end luxury and affordable goods. This department store in Paris often gets crowded and many time stores like Louis Vuitton and Chanel at Galeries Lafayette form a line. I highly recommend arriving early or when the doors open to Galeries Lafayette to beat the crowd.

The great news about being a tourist and shopping at Galeries Lafayette is they often offer special discounts to international travelers. In addition to the special discounts they offer Galeries also has a special VIP section and experience that you can sign up for.

LE BON MARCHÉ PARIS DEPARTMENT STORE

Le Bon Marche shoe department
The Shoe Department at Le Bon Marche Paris © Gabriel de la Chapelle

Le Bon Marche is classified as a high end shopping department store in Paris. I often refer to this as the department shop that Parisians shop at. The store, is calm, clean, gorgeous, and the staff is friendly. When I first moved to Paris I only shopped at Le Bon Marche. I loved the look of this department store and the experience. I often came here to browse around and look at the new designers they carried.

Le Bon Marche offers an additional discount for shopping at their department store. However, keep in mind it requires multiple days of shopping and a little bit of a strategy. When you go into Bon Marche sign up immediately for their rewards card called “La Carte 24 Sèvres.” Once you spend 500 Euros you are entitled to a privilege day.

A privilege day is a day you get an additional 10% back on your shopping purchases (keep in mind this is in the form of a credit back on your account).

Think of it as a 3 day shopping extravaganza. Here is a simple breakdown. Day 1, spend 500 Euros, Day 2 activate your privilege day to save 10%, Shop all day. Day 3 spend the money you have accrued on your La Carte 24 Sèvres card from Day 2 (10% back). Make sure each day you submit the VAT tax refund .

The best part about the Bon Marche department store privilege day is you can couple it with the tax refund in Paris. Meaning, for everyone who is a non-eu citizen you receive the VAT tax back on your purchase. That’s an additional 10 – 20% depending on the purchase! Talk about a deal!

What I love about this department store in Paris is that it carries brands high end luxury brands that are hard to find in other stores. In addition, since it’s not as crowded as the other department stores you will have a better time finding an exact piece that you’re looking for that you may not have been able to locate at another store.

Across the street from the Bon Marche store is one of my favorite groceries of all time. The Le Bon Marche grocery store offers unique Parisian food that you can only find there.

BHV PARIS DEPARTMENT STORE

Another department store in Paris that I recommend is called BHV. BHV is short for Bazar de l’Hotel de Ville. This department store in Paris is located in the Marais district. BHV is home too many brands and a good mix of both locals and tourists. While BHV does have a few luxury brands they are more focused on the affordable brands. BHV offers an incredible shopping experience.

This department store is one of my favorites to shop at to find local Parisian brands that are exclusive to Paris and BHV. I’m also the first to tell you I love shopping local and finding local and unique brands that are only often in Paris. BHV carries a variety of these brands.

What I love about the BHV department store is that in 2012 it underwent a renovated. This renovation makes the shopping experience more enjoyable and modern.

Hermès Birkin Owners Reveal Crazy Tips for Buying the Bag

By Erika Adams  Jun 26, 2015, 10:27am EDT

This story is part of a group of stories called

Hermès is deep in the business of “creating desire,” as the brand’s CEO puts it, and the Birkin bag is the company’s most precious possession. Seeing the need to pull back the curtain a bit, Purseblog recently opened the floor for its community to share their own tales of trying to snag one of the elusive, über-expensive bags. Here are some of the best tips we picked up from the 100+ responses:

1. Build up a reputation by paying for many other things over a long period of time before asking about a Birkin.

“The first time, I hadn’t built up as much of a relationship with H as I have now. I went in, bought a scarf and a bracelet, and at the checkout, I decided to ask if it was possible to see a Birkin (oh how naive I was). They told me that they didn’t have any in stock and I would have to be put on the waiting list. So, I put my name on there and informed them that I wanted a 40 cm in black Togo with palladium hardware. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. Every once in a while, I would stop in and maybe buy something small, like a perfume or an agenda refill, just so I could check in and see if they had any in stock. I think it took around 18 months (and thousands of dollars later) before they finally said “we have a Birkin in the back.” They informed me that it was black chèvre with gold hardware, and it was the 35. I asked to look at it, and I decided to get it. I’m not one who matches the hardware of their bags to their jewelry, so I decided to just get that one. And I liked it a lot. I used it regularly until it was floppy and distressed.”

2. If you don’t have a personal connection to a sales associate, try to work around the brand.

“I bought three for my mom using the American Express Platinum Concierge. I called and told them what I wanted and they put me on hold, called a few stores and within an hour each time I was in the store picking up the bag. I’ve been an AmEx holder and concierge user for a while so that helped. Either way, it’s a game to play to get the bags.”

3. Or, just woo an unknown sales associate.

“One day I came to Hermes rue du faubourg in Paris to see what new colors they have for hapi bracelet. I picked up a bambou (bright green) bracelet and a cashmere scarf (actually it’s for my mom). I didn’t expect to get a bag that day. The SA who was with me was so nice, it was the first time I met him, we talked a lot about the new season colors and how I love them. Before we go to the till, I told him it will be lovely to have a matching bag with my bracelet. He told me to wait and see if he got something. He checked his computer and disappeared. A few minutes later he came back with an orange box (super excited the moment I saw it!!) and asked me to go upstairs. It was quiet there. He opened the box and there it was, birkin 35 in bambou with paladium hardware. I forgot if it’s togo or epsom. The bracelet I bought was in gold hardware though. I tried it on and although it’s a bit big for me i decided to get it (and cracked my credit card).”

4. Look “deserving” of the bag.

“I bought my Birkins from a fabulous SA. She did tell me when I initially asked how to purchase one that you need to be “deserving”. If I wasnt so interested in getting one I would have been turned off. I was also able to customize a Birkin which was a cool experience.”

5. Or just go to Las Vegas, where it’s impossible to judge how much money people have based on their looks.

“I wanted to mention a little “trick” i learned in Las Vegas from an SA at Valentino last week. He said they all treat customers better in LV because they literally can’t tell who has money or not and quite a few of the people who shop at those stores have never been to one before. He said if they were as snooty as other locations they would literally lose business. After visiting a few shops, including Hermes, I think he was telling me the truth as I found all the SA’s at all the stores to come right up and ask me if I needed help. And I was carrying a very non-designer bag! Long story short, if you want to buy a Birkin, try one of the (3, I think) LV stores.”

6. It helps to have a husband.

“The bag came in two weeks before my niece’s wedding and we had already invested a great deal in the wedding. When we (my husband and I) finally saw ‘her’ I asked for a day to think and was told politely, if you don’t get the bag now then you’ll wait another 2 yrs to qualify. I said before we spend $11k ( the money finally hit me) I said , I need 24 hours. So 24 hrs and a sleepless night later we went to the store. It was then I decided no I couldn’t do it and when I turned to find my SA to give her my final decision, I was handed the bag. My husband decided the bag was timeless, made by hand, could be resold and knew it would make ME happy.”

7. The bags that reeked of weed can work out in your favor.

“I was completely surprised when my SA offered me the chance to place a special order for a bag and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I was able to choose everything on my Birkin – size, exterior and interior leather color, hardware color and stitching – I waited about 9 months and finally got to enjoy my gorgeous Hermes bag. I was offered another [special order] and this time chose the Kelly. Unfortunately after another long wait, I was one of the unlucky ones who received a defective, stinky bag. My boutique handled the problem quickly and in the end I was allowed to place another [special order] and received a perfect Kelly a year later.”

8. Just go in a store and ask.

“I really do not understand why it is so hard to get a Birkin. It just seems like a turnoff to me. I guess my mom was one of the lucky ones since she got her first Birkin the first time she asked. AND SHE WAS WEARING OLD NAVY FLIP FLOPS AND TIGHTS ON THAT DAY. She bought 2 scarves, and a Kelly wallet. After paying for those she asked for a Birkin and my mom walked home with a BIG orange bag in her hands.”
